About the event

Many artists and producers don’t know quite where to start when it comes to making their programming more accessible for all. For some, it could be they just don’t know where to start. For others, it could be the financial barriers of implementing different strategies. The Ghostlight has brought in experts from Clovernook Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired and Ghost Light Artistic Interpreting to take some of the guesswork out. Join us for this informative 2 hour lecture on how anyone can make their artistic ventures more accessible, no matter the size of their budget.

A 2-hour workshop including:

  • how to provide a more equitable cultural experience for people who are blind or low vision and deaf or hard of hearing (and easy / budget friendly places to start)
  • how to engage and co-design with people who are blind or low vision
  • what makes a qualified theater interpreter
  • how to build your audience with access in mind

This workshop will be led by Samuel Foulkes of Cincinnati Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired and Keara Beck Ortt of Ghost Light Artistic Interpreting.
